Beaches, dunes and ocean: choose your Gran Canaria coast

Las Canteras, Maspalomas and Mogán offer different days. Choose an area and an experience while respecting sea conditions and protected spaces.

Las Canteras: promenade, swimming or a lesson

The promenade lets you enjoy the beach without entering the water. For surfing, kayaking or snorkelling, ask about meeting point, required ability and adjustments for changing conditions.

Do not assume one area’s conditions apply across the bay. Follow flags and designated zones; after cancellation keep a walk or town visit rather than seeking another water entry without information.

Maspalomas: understand the boundaries first

The dunes form part of a protected reserve. Use viewpoints and designated trails, keeping away from vegetation and wildlife, particularly around the lagoon.

You do not need to cross all the sand to enjoy it. Depending on heat and mobility, the lighthouse promenade or a viewpoint may suit you better than a long sand walk.

Mogán and boats: check the departure harbour

Puerto de Mogán and Puerto Rico are not interchangeable departure points. Read your confirmation and distinguish hotel transfer, boat trip and stops.

Wildlife observation does not guarantee sightings. Check whether swimming is included and in what conditions; a harbour call does not mean unlimited free time.

One water experience, with time to rest

Surfing, kayaking and scuba diving are not equivalent or suitable for everyone. Discuss swimming ability, age and health requirements with the operator and choose one main activity.

For scuba, agree on intervals before flying and travelling to altitude. Departure day has no water activities: leave room for luggage, transfers and LPA.

Before choosing

Can I walk anywhere in the dunes?

No. Follow designated paths and signs. Photography or beach access does not justify leaving them.

Are dolphin sightings guaranteed?

No. These are wild animals. Check the product and its no-sighting policy.

Can I book water activities on flight day?

Our plan does not include this. Prioritise LPA and, for scuba, agree the pre-flight interval with the centre.

FROM PLACE TO TRIP

What you want to see, in five days.

Organised excursions are alternatives to independent visits. You do not need to do both to enjoy the island.
