Arrange Roque Nublo before setting out
Access to trail S-70 via Degollada de La Goleta is regulated. Check the official system for your date: accommodation or car-hire bookings do not replace trail authorisation.
Check travel from the designated parking area and the return connection. Keep your confirmation and do not expect to park beside the trailhead.
Car and bus: two different plans
Travelling by car still requires authorised access arrangements. Summit roads demand attention and time; avoid adding a full island circuit after your walk.
For buses, check the complete Global connection. A route serving an area does not guarantee a useful return after your slot. Choose Tejeda or a tour with confirmed transport if needed.
Tejeda or Artenara, without collecting summits
Tejeda offers village walks and scenery. In Artenara, the Risco Caído centre adds a cultural visit: the sanctuary replica is not entry to the original site.
Choose one village as an alternative to hiking. Check journey and visiting time before adding another stop rather than booking another admission automatically.
Adapt to the day and your preparation
Check Cabildo and protected-area notices. With closures, poor visibility or conditions beyond your preparation, choose an open accessible visit; do not seek shortcuts around a closure.
Bandama can provide another landscape day in the northeast, not a compulsory extension of Roque Nublo. Distinguish an accessible viewpoint from a full walk and check the specific access.

Can I just drive to the Roque Nublo trailhead?
Do not assume so. Check regulations, booking and transport from designated parking areas.
Does Artenara include the original Risco Caído cave?
No. The centre offers context and a replica; the site’s location is not an invitation to enter independently.
Can I leave the highlands until flight day?
We do not recommend it. Reserve departure day for the LPA transfer and formalities, without mountain roads or hiking bookings.
